December Favorites

2015 is almost here. Isn’t that crazy?
But before I start going on about how 2014 was an incredible year (which it was-I went to my dream school, met some amazing people who love Jesus, grew so much in my relationship with God, am pursuing the career I dream of, and I have been overall just very blessed this past year), I want to get into what I was going to talk about—my favorites from this month. I’ve seen YouTubers do this and I love these videos. Mine, however, will be in written format. :)

// BEAUTY

Origins Face Scrub.
I needed a new face scrub, and I was on Sephora’s website and I needed one more thing to get free shipping… so I splurged. Haha… yeah... But I am so glad I bought this. I love the fresh fruity scent as well as how well it works. It scrubs the rough skin off of my face without drying my skin out, which is a very hard thing to find in a product when it comes to my face.

Beauty Blender.
I know. I’m late to the party on this one. …Oh well haha. I had a $20 off of $50 at Sephora and I wanted to get something random that I hadn’t gotten before... thus this purchase. Wow. I fall into Sephora’s marketing traps a lot don’t I? Oops. However, I am loving this. But, then again so does everyone else, it seems, who uses this. I love how well it applies my foundation or BB cream because it applies enough to cover my imperfections, but the sponge absorbs all of the excess product.

Revlon Lip Stain in New York Scene.
I wanted a red lip color that wasn’t in-your-face-red, but still had good pigmentation. I love this product. Walmart was all out of them so I actually made one of my friends drive to Target just so I could get my lipgloss. Yeah, I know. My friends are pretty great :) I love how this lip stain is highly pigmented and it is long lasting and the color is on-point.

Revlon Nail Polish in 721 Raven Red.
I have been OBSESSED with burgundy lately and this nail polish is no exception. I have a burgundy nail polish by Essie that I like, but it’s more purple, while this one is more on the red side. Plus, it’s been on my nails for a couple days and I have a job that is hands-on and my nails have not chipped.

// FASHION

Forever 21 Plaid Scarves.
I have been looking for scarves like these all over the place. I found ones like them at Aerie, but I wasn’t really for spending $30 on one scarf. These scarves are super cute, as well as warm and comfy. They are basically everything you would want in a scarf.

Aerie Hoodie.
I have been wearing the crap out of this hoodie ever since I got it for Christmas. I know, this isn’t an all month thing, but oh well. It’s comfy, but if I need to go out of the house for something, it doesn’t look like I’ve been a lazy butt all day.

// RANDOM

Cinnamon Frosting White Barn Candle from B&B Works.
I’m pretty sure the first thing I did when I got back from school for break was go to B&B Works to get a Christmas candle. This candle is so perfect for me personally because I got a scent that combines what scents my sister and I love—she loves cinnamon and I LOVE frosting. I just love burning candles when I’m home. It makes everything feel so much cozier.

Jane the Virgin.
I had seen commercials for this show and thought it was going to be silly. But, I’m on break and I needed a show to watch (plus it had been nominated for a Golden Globe) so I thought I’d give this one a go. So glad I did. Oh my gosh. This show is so funny and ah its perf. Oh, and have you guys ever seen that engagement video where the guy makes a bunch of movie scenes for his girlfriend to watch as his proposal because he’s an actor/director? (If you haven’t, please watch it. I know its long but its so worth it. And I’m warning you, it might make you cry. A couple of my guy friends were crying watching it :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVTr5MNa_8Y ) Well, the guy who made that video is one of the main actors in Jane the Virgin which is even more perfect. If you are looking for a new show to watch, I totally recommend this. It’s on the CW and they have only gotten through nine episodes so there’s time to catch up.

Once Upon a Time.
Once I got through Jane the Virgin, I thought I’d catch up with Once Upon a Time. I had stopped watching a year or two ago back in the middle of season two, but I thought I’d give it another go. And I am soooo glad I did. I am in love and obsessed with this show. And Emma and Hook are perf, just saying. If you’ve never watched it, its on ABC and you can watch it on Netflix.

Blank Space / Style Mash-up.
I saw on twitter that Taylor Swift had tweeted about this video and as soon as I listened, I fell in love with what they did with the song. So good.

TheSkimm.
I am sooo busy at school and I realized that I had no idea what was happening in the world. I found this email service and it’s so perfect for what I need. Basically, the people take what’s happening in the news every day and email you the shortened version in an easy-read format that’s very informative. I love it because right now I’m reading it with my breakfast/whenever I get up meal. When I’m back at school I can read it with my breakfast and when I’m taking the bus to class. You can sign up at this website: http://www.theskimm.com

SheReadsTruth App.
I love this app. They have the Bible as well as reading plans and devotionals, which are very well written and eye-opening. I don’t know what else to write but get it. Seriously. Such a good app.

What were you guys’ favorites this month? Let me know in the comments. :)
Thanks lovelies,
Kirsten
